DOES NOT WORK WITH GH3!! October 29, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We had one of these adapters anyway and just bought Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock yesterday. The adapter does not work with this game. The PS button brings up the console screen, but no scrolling is possible and it takes control away from any other guitar connected. If you can actually get it into gameplay, the symptoms are similar to those experienced with other Guitar Hero games (no star power deployment using tilt, etc.). DON'T BUY THIS if you want to play Guitar Hero on PS3; suck it up and get the new wireless guitar(s) made for the system.
This is the one to get October 13, 2007 If you're looking for an adapter to play GH & DDR (PS2 Games) on your PS3, this is the adapter to get. Right now it's the best one out. You do have to push the PS button to 'sync' it each time, but Pelican did the best they could with what they were working with. I would give it 5 stars, but I don't have experience using this with other games and regular ps2 controllers.
Works great for me October 8, 2007 I don't know why everyone's having a problem with it, but it works perfectly for my ps2 DDR mat. It says in the directions that you have to push the ps button when the light blinks to register the right number, which is the same with the ps3 controller... Actually DDR works even better than on the ps2 now!
Pelican adaptor does NOT work!! October 2, 2007 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
This PS3/PS2 adaptor does NOT work!!! It keeps scrolling through all of my menus and is IMPOSSIBLE to get it to work right. The Guitar Hero II part worked about 80% correctly, but it does not allow the notes to be "lit-up" while you hit the corresponding colored "string" button. Sucks, because you need to know that you are on the right color. Anyway, save your money and just buy a new PS3 controller and/or a guitar that is specifically made for the PS3.
WARNING! September 27, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The version I bought at a local game store just an hour or so ago is a p.o.s. and should not be bought. I'm making my judgements buy my playing of Guitar Hero 2 and Guitar Hero: Rocks The 80's, first of all, there are THREE MODES just set up for the guitar hero controller, and you'd think it'd be easy, but you'd be so wrong. "Press and Hold the 'Start' button and then press the 'green' button for MENU MODE" Menu mode works just fine, it works just like the PS2 would. "Press and Hold the 'Start' button and then press the 'red' button for RIGHTY MODE." In righty mode in order to use the menu you must "hold the orange button and strum to accept selection" The modes are completely screwed up, "lefty mode" is just like 'righty mode' except everything button wise is switched (go figure). Not only is a hunk of junk so far, that's only $14.99! The star power tilt on the guitar doesn't work anymore, nope... now you have to be skilled with smacking a select button during a face-melting a solo. Oh, and worse yet for people that love to play on Hard and Expert, guess what is missing from the gameplay? Hammering up and Hammering down! Go figure, now through that sea of notes you have to strum like there is a fire in your pants and the only way to put it out is strumming faster.
Please, for your sake do not buy this equipment. I'm returning mine immediately after this post.
