Product Description The addictive game play, awesome graphic presentation and the excellent renditions of random J-pop tunes makes Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan an import gem. This is an absolute must have title for all DS owners. And if you dont have a DS system, this game alone is reason enough to buy a DS. Yes, there is multi-cart multiplayer for up to four players. And believe it or not, the multi-player is even more fun than the single player mode.Ouendan is a Japanese import title that is region free. It can be played on any Nintendo DS system. It is also extremely import friendly, requiring no Japanese language comprehension to enjoy (although the scenes and menus are in Japanese, the game can easily be understood).

Best DS game out there... May 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Import this. Best game out there on the DS... Period.
Elite Beat Agents is very similar, but not quite as awesome. On the plus side, you don't need to import that one.
Oh, and I should note that there's no language barrier whatsoever. The menus are straightforward (though Japanese), and the plot is more communicated through actions than through words.
If you liked EBA, go ahead and get Ouendan too April 3, 2007 When I got myself a copy of Elite Beat Agents I found myself playing it a lot more then I should. When I heard that you can play import DS games on a standard Nintendo DS I picked up a copy of Ouendan. I can't read a dang thing, but the menu setup is almost exactly the same as it is in EBA.
Even if you have not played EBA, it isn't all that hard to figure out how to play Ouendan - it's a rhythm game. You pick your song, and watch the story of the person you are about to cheer on. You may not be able to read the story, but the comic book style makes it easy enough to guess. You then tap these circular buttons as soon as another hits the white boarder of the button. Sometimes you will have to drag your stylus along a path or use it to spin a big wheel, but that is really all there is to it.
It's a lot more fun then it sounds. If you like rhythm games but can't read Japanese I would recommend picking up a copy of Elite Beat Agents. If you already have EBA and want some different songs to play, try out Ouendan. The two games are almost exactly the same.
Great fun! March 23, 2007 This game is the Japanese version of Elite Beat Agents. The text, songs, and menus are all in Japanese, but you don't need to know what "konnichiwa" means to have great fun playing this on your U.S. Nintendo DS! The manga (graphic novel) style storytelling is easy to understand even without the text bubbles and the songs are very catchy. Pick this one up!
Ouendan = Great Win February 28, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this after playing the American counterpart, Elite Beat Agents. If you liked EBA, you'll love this game as well. The selection of songs are just as varied and will suit most people's tastes. The main difference (besides the fact that everything is written in Japanese) is that the animation is more stylized, and the actual beats are smaller on the screen. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of rhythm games.
San, ni, ichi! (3, 2, 1) February 13, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Being an afficionado of rhythm games, quirky games, and fun games, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (translated: Go! Fight! Cheer Squad) fulfilled all three. Don't let the Japanese text scare you away, as this game is fully playable without needing to know a single bit of Japanese.
The premise is simple: Songs play, and you tap, trace, and twirl your way to victory while the Ouendan squad dances on the bottom screen to help whatever hapless victim calls on them. The scenarios range from the hilarious (helping a chubby Cleopatra build a magical fat-reducing pyramid) to the serious (helping a recently deceased man get one last message to his girlfriend) to the over-the-top (charging up the entire world to obliterate an incoming meteor).
Of course, in a rhythm game, what really matters is the song selection, right? Fear not, as the songs are excellent, from the soothing melodies of 'Over The Distance' to the upbeat 'Thrill' and 'Linda Linda' to the main theme of FullMetal Alchemist, 'Ready Steady Go!'.
If you're a fan of Elite Beat Agents, Dance Dance Revolution, or practically any rhythm game, be sure to give this a try!
(Note: Import Japanese games will play on American Nintendo DS's.)
